The Evolution of Mickey Mouse

Nice summary of Mickey’s evolution. Stephen Jay Gould wrote a great essay once on how the evolved Mickey reflected the principle of neoteny, or the retention of juvenile traits as an adult. Neotenic traits are perceived as “cuter” by adults.
