Obviously, mobile is finally taking off as a marketing channel. But I believe it will be apps and mobile web that truly influence billions of $ in sales, not SMS messaging.

While it is true that mobile Twitter, Facebook and other apps create customers always available to marketers, customers will cut off that access unless they receive truly relevant content. I know of at least one retailer at the forefront 🙂

Without quibbling over whether we are already in web 3.0 (which to some means mobile, to others “contextual, etc.), 2.0 always meant peer to peer, crowd-sourcing, et.al. Here’s a good infographic about that dynamic, which is occurring across virtually every interest “group” imaginable.
